After the closing of Cloud Party I was forced to find a new platform. RPG Maker, Unreal 4, and Unity 3D were all considered, and after a painful transition and even an attempt to create a few of the early mini-games which failed, Unity 3D was selected to be the platform moving forward. I had a terrible time despite my industry experience working for companies and even indie game studios at this point, finding someone who could program that would work with me.
I felt the whole concept of collaborative community in the indie dev scene was more myth than fact, and I still feel that way today. Honestly, most people that joined one would leave a couple weeks or even a month into the project, usually without even saying anything they would disappear.
